What is Belotero?

Belotero is an injectable dermal filler with a firm hyaluronic acid base. Hyaluronic acid is a biocompatible and naturally-occurring gel that binds water and makes your skin look plump, supple, smooth, and voluminous. Belotero has a heavy hyaluronic gel base, making it suitable for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, including laugh lines, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, etc. It leads to naturally-looking results because the hyaluronic gel has a smooth consistency, it blends with the skin’s natural structure, and it eventually gets absorbed by the body.

What does Belotero treat?

Belotero is used to add facial volume and treat moderate to severe wrinkles and lines, such as vertical lip lines, nasolabial folds, and laugh lines.

What happens during the Belotero procedure?

During your initial consultation, our expert and experienced staff will examine your facial skin and discuss your medical history to gauge your suitability for the procedure. Belotero products contain local anesthesia called lidocaine, so they don’t cause any pain or discomfort. However, if you’re anxious, you can also ask for a topical numbing gel on your skin’s surface.

Our aestheticians will use a pen to create a treatment map on your face, marking out all the injection sites. Next, they’ll clean the area with an antiseptic solution, and then administer Belotero using fine-gauge needle syringes. After applying the injections, the treatment area will be gently massaged to spread the filler evenly. Depending on the number of injections necessary, the complete Belotero procedure may last for 15 minutes to an hour.

What is recovery from Belotero like?

After the Belotero procedure, you can return home immediately and resume most of your daily activities — there’s no downtime. However, you’ll experience swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising in the injection sites, which will gradually recede within a few days. You should avoid strenuous activities, direct exposure to the sun, or alcohol consumption for 24 hours after the treatment. You’ll notice improvements immediately, but the results will continue improving over several weeks. Depending on the chosen Belotero solution, the results may last for 6 to 18 months.

Am I a suitable candidate for Belotero?

Belotero is a completely safe dermal filler for most people. It’s ideal for most adults with moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. However, you may not be suitable for the procedure if you:

  • Are under 18 years of age.
  • Are pregnant or nursing.
  • Have a history of severe allergies.
  • Are allergic to gram-positive bacterial proteins.
