What is Dysport?
Dysport is a neurotoxin containing abobotulinumtoxinA (Botulinum toxin type A), a drug that blocks nerve activities in the muscles, leading to muscle relaxation and temporarily controlled paralysis. Wrinkles and fine lines appear because of specific muscular contractions on your face. But Dysport disrupts the nerve signals from reaching the targeted facial muscles, thus preventing muscle contraction and the appearance of wrinkles. During the Dysport treatment, our expert estheticians will carefully identify and select the targeted facial muscles to reduce wrinkles, without side effects such as drooping or a “worked on” look.
What does Dysport treat?
Dysport is FDA-approved as a treatment for frown lines or glabellar lines, i.e., the vertical lines between your eyebrows. These glabellar lines usually appear when you’re actively contracting your facial muscles, but they become more prominent as you grow older. As you age, your skin loses elasticity due to the reduction of collagen, which makes the glabellar lines appear prominently even when you’re relaxed. Dysport injections help relax the muscles in the region, reducing the appearance of these and nearby lines and wrinkles.
What happens during the Dysport procedure?
During your consultation, our experts will examine your skin type and discuss your goals to determine if Dysport is the right injectable for your needs. Dysport is only FDA-approved for the treatment of glabellar lines, but it may sometimes be used to remove the forehead's wrinkles as well. We will apply a mild anesthetic to ensure comfort. Following that, we will inject the neurotoxin into a few regions around the eyebrows and forehead, strategically selecting the facial muscles to ensure the most natural results.
What is recovery from Dysport like?
You may experience some swelling, redness, and bruising in the injection sites immediately after the treatment. However, the swelling and redness will dissipate soon, although the exact duration varies from patient to patient. You’ll start seeing the treatment results within about 3 days, and you may continue seeing improvements for a week.
What Happens after the Dysport Procedure?
After your treatment, you can get right back to your usual activities and routine. There is no downtime or significant recovery period to worry about. There may be some side effects, such as swelling and redness at the injection site, which will pass within the day.
Don’t massage the treatment area for the following two days. This can cause the substance to spread to other regions. Do not drink alcohol, expose yourself to extreme heat, or strenuously exercise until two days have passed.

Individuals who meet the following criteria are the most ideal candidates for Dysport:
